Leonov University of Technology has become a basic university of Roscosmos

On May 30 at the Center «Cosmonautics and Aviation» at VDNKh, a solemn presentation of the certificates of the basic educational organizations of higher education for the rocket and space industry took place.

The State Corporation «Roscosmos» together with the leading experts from the organizations of the rocket and space industry conducted a large-scale study to assess the involvement of universities in the development of the rocket and space industry.

More than 60 educational institutions of higher education took part in the study, of which only 18 of the best were selected. Leonov University of Technology was not only on the list of the basic universities in the rocket and space industry, but also entered the Top-3 in the «Roscosmos Constellation» rating .

Director General of the State Corporation «Roscosmos» Dmitry Rogozin personally presented the President of the University of Technology Tatyana Startseva with a certificate of awarding the university the status of the basic university for the rocket and space industry.

The University of Technology and other basic universities of «Roscosmos» are invited to participate in the Space Scientific and Educational Innovation Consortium «Roscosmos Constellation», which will allow achieve a synergistic effect and increase the efforts of its participants in terms of training highly qualified personnel, as well as the development of scientific and technological potential of the rocket and space industry.

Also, the Consortium participants will receive comprehensive information and methodological support from the State Corporation «Roscosmos» and its organizations, assistance in developing the material and technical base, in attracting students who have concluded an agreement on targeted training with the industry enterprises to train under special educational programs, etc.
