COMPETITION «COSMOS» FINISHED IN KOROLYOV

The solemn closing ceremony of the XXXIX All-Russian youth competition on research works and engineering projects "Cosmos", dedicated to the memory of the pilot-cosmonaut Alexander Serebrov, took place in the Choir School «Podlipki» concert hall. A large-scale competition of young intellectuals was organized by the University of Technology with support of the State Corporation «Roscosmos», the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs «Rosmolodezh» and the All-Russian Youth Aerospace Society «Soyuz». Within four days, 200 competition finalists demonstrated and defended their research projects. The projects were evaluated by the authority jury, comprising the leading experts of city-forming enterprises and RSA «Roscosmos», professors of the University of Technology.

In addition, an extensive educational and business program with master classes in mastering modern digital technologies was prepared for the finalists.

The works were presented in nine sections:

• practical rocket modeling;
• projects for future rocket and space technology;
• rocket and space technology of the past and present (models and layouts);
• robotics and electronics;
• algorithms. Software, architectural and infrastructure solutions;
• applied cosmonautics;
• space research: demonstrators and experiments;
• space exploration: astronomy, astrophysics;
• methodological support for space education (managers section).

At the beginning of the closing ceremony Tatyana Startseva, the rector of the University of Technology addressed the participants and guests of the competition:

- Dear participants! This year, the competition «Cosmos» is being held for the first time in Korolyov, and this is symbolic. The largest enterprises of the Russian rocket and space industry, which are the partners of the University of Technology, are located in our science city. You visited our units, got acquainted with the University infrastructure, facilities and resources. We have made every effort for your spending these four days with benefit, interest and in comfortable conditions. We will be happy to see you among our students. I wish you all success, good luck, new victories and new achievements!

The participants were also greeted by Ksenia Trunova, the Head of the RSA «Roscosmos» Department for Personnel Development and Project Support , and Sergey Revin, the pilot-cosmonaut, Hero of the Russian Federation.

Then the award ceremony was held. All the competition participants received memorable gifts and the authors of the winning projects were awarded with diplomas. Besides, the special awards of RSA «Roscosmos», vouchers to the International Children's Center «Artek», were presented to the best participants.
