XLIX Gagarin Readings were held at the university

Today at the Leonov University of Technology, a meeting of the section «Cosmonautics and Society» of the XLIX International Public Scientific Readings dedicated to the memory of Yu.A. Gagarin was held. For eight years in a row the work of this section has been carried out within the walls of the university in Korolev and it brings together the leading scientists and specialists in the country's rocket and space industry.

Before the meeting the guests of the university visited the photo exhibition «Our Gagarin», organized by the university and dedicated to the first manned flight into space. The exposition includes the unique photographs telling about the life and activity of the first cosmonaut of the Earth.

The work of the section «Cosmonautics and Society» was opened by the President of the University of Technology Tatyana Startseva. She noted the high importance of holding the Gagarin Readings: «Today we see here the scientists who have been studying space and space technologies for a very long time. Nowadays these technologies are applicable in all spheres of industrial production. Our students absorb this knowledge, and after graduation they go to work at the enterprises in the rocket and space industry, where they apply the acquired knowledge in practice and continue to develop scientific thought».

The leaders of the section «Cosmonautics and Society» were the Hero of Russia, pilot-cosmonaut, chief specialist of TsNIIMash Sergey Avdeev, the chief researcher of IPU RAS, professor of MAI Yuri Sidelnikov, the head of the educational and scientific laboratory of the advanced space technology of the University of Technology Alexey Kapralov and the head of the youth science development department of the university Irina Zuntova.

This year at the Gagarin Readings in total 30 scientific reports were presented. The topics covered in the reports: on the use of artificial intelligence and 3D printing technologies in rocket science, information security in socio-cyber-physical systems, the development of domestic technologies in the construction of lunar bases, etc. The authors of the reports participated in the Readings both face-to-face and online. Along with the eminent scientists the students of the University of Technology, the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, the Moscow Aviation Institute have participated in the discussions.

Based on the results of the XLIX Gagarin Readings, a collection of all scientific papers presented by the authors will be published.
