14.10.2019 Visit of the Irish Institute Representative to the University of Technology On October,8, the representative of the international department of the Institute of Technology Carlow (Ireland) Rachel Ney Neill visited the University of Technology. The Institute of Technology Carlow (IT Carlow) currently ranks as the second-largest of Ireland’s 14 Institutes of Technology with more than 8,448 enrolments and has generated over 55,000 graduates since its founding in 1970. The IT Carlow provides higher educational full-time and part-time courses, along with research and enterprise development opportunities, in Carlow, Wexford, Wicklow and Dublin. During the meeting with the Dean of the Faculty of Infocommunication Systems and Technologies Evgenii Samarov and representatives of the International Department of the University of Technology Rachel Neil Neill got acquainted with the training areas and structural units of the University. Special attention was paid to the areas of engineering and information technology, including applied mathematics, computer sciences, information security, information systems and technologies. The representative of Ireland also visited the University structural units: the Children's Technopark "Quantorium", the Engineering Center “High-Temperature Composite Materials” and laboratories. Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Vyateslav Startsev, Head of Engineering Center Laboratory Alexey Chesnokov and Head of the Department for International Cooperation and Integration into the Educational Community Evgenii Sergeev told the University guest about the achievements of the structural units and their development prospects for the nearest future. We hope that the visit of the Institute of Technology Carlow delegation will become a start for fruitful cooperation between the universities within academic and student mobility, as well as for the joint activity within international scientific and practical conferences.
