24.01.2020 On the eve of the Russian Student Day (Tatyana's Day), the annual award ceremony “Golden Section” for the best students and teachers of the previous academic year was held at the University of Technology. Tatyana’s day is always celebrated with a geat flourish at the University of Technology!

The tradition of such a bright Student Day celebration was laid down at the University of Technology in 2008, and since then every year the most successful students and teachers who have achieved high results in educational, scientific and creative activities are awarded the “Golden Section” prizes.

Together with the University of Technology student and teaching community, the ceremony was attended by Yuri Koptsik, First Deputy Head of the city Korolev Administration , Dmitrii Denisov , Chairman of Сity Council of Deputies, heads of rocket and space industry leading enterprises – the partners of the university. The guests congratulated the students on the upcoming holiday and assigning a name after twice Hero of the Soviet Union, pilot-cosmonaut Alexei Leonov to the University.

- The university is constantly developing. The institution is confidently moving forward and has been included in the ranking of the best universities in Russia for several years. And it is natural that Andrey Vorobyov, Governor of the Moscow Region, have decided to assign the name of the legendary cosmonaut Alexei Leonov to the University of Technology. Here rather than elsewhere is a fertile soil that can nurture great scientists, engineers and designers. I wish you success! – noted Yuri Koptsik.

The special guests together with Tatyana Startseva, Rector of the University of Technology, presented the honored cups, diplomas and valuable prizes to the winners of 15 award nominations.

Nomination “Higher Education Teacher of the Year “ - Elena Shtrafina, Deputy Dean of the Faculty for Infocommunication Systems and Technologies, Senior Lecturer, Department of Information Technology and Control Systems;

Nomination “Student Recognition of Higher Education” - Olga Voeiko, Ph.D., associate professor, Department of Quality Management and Standardization, winner of the 2014 Golden Section competition in nomination “Teacher of the Year”, Honorary Lecturer at the University of Technology;

Nomination “Secondary Vocational Education Teacher of the Year ” - Natalia Mironova, teacher of the high qualification category, Technology and Design College, expert / chief expert of the WorldSkills Regional Championship in the field “Industrial Design”;

Nomination "Student Recognition of Secondary Vocational Education" - Evgenia Bragina, teacher of the high qualification category in general and special disciplines, Space Engineering and Technology College;

Nomination “Higher Education Student of the Year” - Kirill Volnykh, student of the major “Quality Management” (group UO-17), Institute for Engineering and Digital Technology;

Nomination “Secondary Vocational Education Student of the Year” - Elena Poelueva, student of TM1C-15 group, Engineering Technology Division, Space Engineering and Technology College;

Nomination “Higher Education Group of the Year” - group RO-15, specialty “Design, production and operation of rockets and space-rocket complexes”, Institute for Engineering and Digital Technology, group leader- Elizaveta Smirnova;

Nomination “Secondary Vocational Education Group of the Year” - group KMT-16, specialty “Design, modeling and technology of garments”, Technology and Design College, group leader - Maria Borisova;

Nomination “Curator of the Year” - Anna Chernyshova, head of educational and scientific Laboratory for sociological research, supervised group - CO-18;

Nomination “Class Teacher of the Year” - Galina Vidova, deputy director for educational activities, Space Engineering and Technology College, teacher of the high category, honory worker of secondary vocational education;

Nomination “Department of the Year” - Department of Management, Head of Department - Mikhail Veselovsky, Class 1 State Councilor of the Russian Federation, honory worker of higher education of the Russian Federation;

Nomination “Cycle Commission of the Year” - a Cyclic commission in the specialty “Information Systems (by industry)”, Space Engineering and Technology College, chairman of the cyclic commission - Daria Nikonova;

Nomination “Consultant-Mentor for Student Research Papers of the Year” - Sergey Sabo, Ph.D., associate professor of the Department of Engineering and Technology;

Nomination “Author of Scientific Publications in Ranking Russian and International Journals on Natural and Technical Sciences of the Year” - Vladimir Artyushenko, Prof. Dr. - Ing., Head of Department of Information Technology and Control Systems;

Nomination “Author of Scientific Publications in Ranking Russian and International Journals on the Humanities and Social Sciences of the Year” - Mikhail Abrashkin, Ph.D. in Economics, associate professor of Department of Management.

During the “Golden Section “ award ceremony, the leaders of the science city-forming enterprises distinguished the students of the University of Technology, studing at the basic departments and having already achieved their first professional success at work, as well as the university academicians.

Mikhail Makarov, Director of Maksimov Research Institute of Space Systems, Igor Panin, Director General of Isaev Chemical Engineering Design Bureau, Natalia Korchagina, Director for Economics and Finance of JSC “Kompozit”, Alexander Nevzorov, Leading Specialist for the Personnel Development and Training of NPO “Measurement Techniques”, and Vladimir Bugreev, Advisor to Director General of JSC “Tactical Missiles Corporation” presented diplomas and personalized awards to the students and teachers

On the same evening, students of the first graduation of the specialty “Design, manufacture and operation of rockets and space-rocket complexes” were honored. The defence of their graduation projects, prepared under the guidance of enterprises leading specialists, will be held on Tatyana’s day, 25 January.

The guests thanked the University of Technology, in the person of Tatyana Startseva, Rector, for the long and fruitful cooperation, thanks to which it was possible to prepare such highly professional young personnel.

The “ Golden Section” ceremony was accompanied by bright vocal and dance numbers, which students of the University of Technology prepared specially for Tatyana's Day. And according to tradition, the evening ended with the joint performance of the university’s anthem.
